Fretted and fretless electric bass. Originally from DuBois, Pennsylvania, Conrad started on piano at age seven, but moved to the Fender bass when he discovered rock ‘n roll in junior high. While playing with Cincinnati area R&B and show groups, he studied bass viol with Charles Metcalf of the Cincinnati Symphony and then majored in jazz education at North Texas State and William Penn University. Conrad toured with regional and national recording/performing acts before settling down in the Houston area. In addition to playing with Triple Standard, Conrad has appeared with many area pop and jazz groups, as well as praise and worship teams. He is principal bassist for The Woodlands United Methodist Church Orchestra.
Piano. Conrad is a jazz pianist based out of The Woodlands, Tx. Originally from Chickasha, Oklahoma, he started his music interest in junior high on alto saxophone and picked up guitar and piano in high school. He moved to Houston in 2003 and started working as a freelance musician and studying jazz. He has worked with local musicians such as Bob Henschen, Mark Holter, Andrew Lienhard, Paul Peacock, Mike Owen, The Little Brother Project and most recently with The Party Favors. Musically he is influenced by all the jazz greats including Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk, Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea.
Drums. A Louisiana native, Kurt started playing drums at an early age in New Orleans, and hasn’t stopped since. He has recorded and toured with local and regional acts throughout the South and Midwest playing a variety of music and styles. From Louisiana to Nebraska, Kurt relocated to The Woodlands, Texas in 2001, and quickly became engrained in the Houston music scene. In addition to Triple Standard, Kurt currently plays with Stunt Wallet Music recording artists The Honky Tonk Heroes and stays busy as an in-demand fill-in drummer for rock, blues, Cajun, country, jazz, and contemporary Christian artists in East Texas and West Louisiana.
